Year 12 and 13 Explore Ecology On Trip To Snowdonia

Last week, our Year 12 and 13 students embarked on an exciting residential field trip to Rhyd-y-Creuau, located in the heart of Snowdonia National Park, Wales. Known as the "gateway to Snowdonia," this Georgian country house-turned-field-centre provided the perfect backdrop for hands-on environmental education and team-building experiences for our Geography A-Levels students.

The week-long programme immersed students in the natural beauty of North Wales, with activities that spanned coastal studies, woodland ecology and sustainable conservation projects. Students also tackled adventurous challenges like orienteering and team games designed to boost collaboration and resilience.

Rhyd-y-Creuau's inspired our students to deepen their understanding of geography in real-world contexts. Evenings were spent reflecting on the day’s discoveries and enjoying the camaraderie of peers in the cosy communal spaces of the centre. The trip was designed to offer more than just academic growth—it fostered teamwork, independence, and a shared appreciation for the environment. A big thank you to staff and students for making this journey a success!
